Corner Bakery Café,  a “fast-casual restaurant” located next to the Barnes &Noble bookstore at MarketFair, has closed for good.

The eatery, which opened in March 0f 2014, served breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The Dallas-based chain declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month in the Delaware Bankruptcy Court.

The closure of the Corner Bakery means two restaurants are now vacant at MarketFair, which is located on Route One South in West Windsor. Bobby’s Burger Place, the upscale burger joint that was owned by celebrity chef Bobby Flay, closed in September of 2020. The space at the mall is still empty.

Corner Bakery Cafe had more than 170 locations at the end of 2022 and now has about 125 locations. In 2020, the Roark Capital Group sold the struggling chain to Pandya Restaurant Growth Brands, which is owned by Jignesh Pandya of Bucks County, Pa. His company also bought the Boston Market chain the same year.

  1. Not a surprise, staff were rude and food had left over rust from grill, with no apologies or empathy from staff.
