Police investigating murder of elderly woman in West Windsor

The West Windsor Police Department and the Mercer County Homicide Task Force are investigating the murder of a 71-year-old resident of West Windsor.

Neighbors of resident Elaine Murray were concerned about her well-being after they went to check on her at her Galston Drive home and did not receive a response. The neighbors noticed evidence of a break-in at her home and called the police.

On Wednesday night, police went to the home, which is located in a neighborhood next to Mercer County Park, and were able to get inside. They found Murray’s body on the floor of a second-floor bedroom. There were visible signs of injuries on her face, neck, and head.
