The Bryn Mawr Wellesley Book Sale is thriving and the organization has a new home for donations on State Road where volunteers accept books and other materials two days a week.

Previously the drop-off site was located at 281 Witherspoon Street, where the organization had a month-to-month lease that ended. For many years prior to that, the drop-off site was located on Vandeventer Avenue.

The Bryn Mawr-Wellesley Book Sale sells donated books to raise money for college scholarships. The sale also keeps unwanted books out of the trash, provides residents in the region and beyond with low-cost books, and allows local book lovers to meet. The annual sale that was held at Stuart Country Day School in March was one of the most successful in the nonprofit’s 92-year history.

“We thank everyone who helped out including volunteers and buyers. We especially thank Ann Pierpont, Stuart’s Director of Auxiliary Programs. We’ll see everyone again next year,” Book Sale President Kathy Morris wrote in a letter thanking Planet Princeton readers for supporting the 2023 sale by donating books, volunteering, and shopping at the sale.

You can drop your used books in good condition off Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until noon at 812 State Road (Route 206 South) in Princeton. The new drop-off site is located just south of Lucy’s Kitchen and Market. The new book sale space is located on the ground floor of the building. If you are bringing more than 20 boxes of books, call 609-921-7479 ahead of time. The donation drop-off site is closed on major holidays.

The book sale does not accept VHS tapes, cassette tapes, or CDs, except for CD audiobooks. DVDs in good condition are accepted.

Do not donate stained, dusty, or musty books, books that are heavily underlined, books with ripped covers or browned pages, encyclopedias (except the Britannica 11th edition), self-help books, catalogs, textbooks, World language books (except French, Italian, and Spanish), magazines and journals, Reader’s Digest condensed books, Time-Life sets, Harlequin and Silhouette romances, guides or almanacs that are more than two years old, business and technical books that are more than five years old, and books from the Life Nature Library, the Life Science Library, and the Life World Library.
