Mercer County will open its COVID-19 vaccination site starting Thursday, Jan. 21 at the CURE Arena in Trenton. Capital Health will manage the vaccine clinics at the site.

In order to sign up to receive a vaccine at the CURE Arena site, you must first pre-register via the state system at covidvaccine.nj.gov.

County officials said the number of doses of the vaccine available to Mercer County right now are “extremely limited” because of the national vaccine shortage. One local health officer said this week that the county is only receiving 800 vaccine doses per week. Mercer County has one of the lowest per capita COVID-19 vaccination rates in the state.

You are currently eligible to receive a vaccine if you are:

A paid or unpaid worker working in a health care setting
A resident of a long-term care facility or other congregate settings
A frontline first responder
Age 65 or older
Age 16 to 64 with at least one medical condition that increases your risk of severe illness from the coronavirus, as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Planet Princeton has created a crowdsourced document listing vaccine sites with updated information on how to register at each site, whether vaccines or appointments are available, and other vaccination site information. Most sites are out of vaccines, or in some cases appointments that were available on Wednesday were gone within an hour or two. Those sites are telling people to check back later as new time slots open up once more vaccine doses are distributed. Volunteers are adding the remaining counties to the spreadsheet by the end of Wednesday. Readers are adding comments to the sheet as they try to register at locations across the state. A link to the state pre-registration portal is included in the document. Instructions on how to add information to the spreadsheet are also included at the top of the document.
