Pilot crashes plane into tree at Princeton Airport

A pilot attempting to land at the Princeton Airport in Montgomery struck a tree on Wednesday morning, Aug. 9, just before 9 a.m. Officials said wind gusts were to blame for the crash. No injuries were reported.

Police responded and found a single-engine Cessna disabled on Airpark Road near the entrance to the airport on Route 206 South.

A gust of wind blew the plane off its course. The pilot struck a tree on the south side of Airpark Road when he tried to gain altitude, police said. The crash is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Montgomery EMS, Montgomery Fire Company 2, and the Rocky Hill Fire Company all responded to the scene Wednesday.
