William Doran of Kendall Park dies at 88

On Monday morning, July 3, William M. Doran of Kendall Park died. He was 88.

William’s family said he lived a beautiful life. He showed his children how to love their spouses by cherishing his wife, Marilyn for 66 years. He also showed his children the benefit of practicing their faith, working hard, and caring for each other.

Born in Maspeth, New York, William and spent the past 61 years in Kendall Park.

William is predeceased by his parents William and Teresa Doran, his brother Maurice Doran and his son Timothy Doran.


Surviving William is his wife Marilyn, his sister Sr. Martin Marie Doran, his children William J Doran (Margaret), Margaret Shiraldi (John), Daniel Doran (Lucy), Kathleen Doran, Teresa Allegro (Daniel deceased), Eileen Kline(Daniel) and Maureen Santarelli (Christopher), his grandchildren Ryan, Colleen, Christopher, Kelly, Kevin, Gabrielle, Justin, Daniel, Nicole, Mellisa, Victoria, Erin, Mary, Daniel, William, Michael, Allison, Kaitlin, Daniel, Lauren, Meghan and Christopher, and his great-grandchildren, Teague, Tess, Desmond, Keaton, Beckham, Leo, Clara, Quinn, Riley, Mae, Lucy, Elle, Magnolia, Florence and Bennett, who all loved him and will miss him dearly.

William was an athlete and loved his game of golf. The only team he loved more than the NY Giants, Yankees, and Rangers were the teams that he coached and those that his children played on. Watching and encouraging his children and grandchildren while they were playing always put a smile on his face.

For over forty years, he was very active in the Knights of Columbus and was an usher in the parish of St. Augustine’s.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852. An additional visitation will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 10 am until 11 am at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 7, at 11 a.m. at St Augustine of Canterbury Church, 45 Henderson Road Kendall Park, NJ, 08824. Entombment will follow in the Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Bill’s honor to St. Augustine of Canterbury Roman Catholic Church.
