Mercer County’s 175th anniversary celebration at Princeton.

As part of Mercer County’s 175th anniversary celebration, Princeton University will hold an open house on Saturday and Sunday, August 10 and 11. The focus of the program at Princeton will be on architecture, part of Mercer County’s Historic Open House weekend. The Art Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m on Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. On both Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m., those in attendance will be able to view special items from the museum’s collections. Don’t miss this opportunity to see these museum selections, brought together specifically for the tours as part of Mercer County’s 175th anniversary celebration.

For many, the high point of the weekend undoubtedly will be the opening to the public of the Faculty Room of Nassau Hall. The historic Faculty Room will only be open on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. This is a rare public event, as the Faculty Room is normally closed to the public. Caroline Harris, associate director for education at the Princeton University Art Museum, will give a talk in the tradition-rich room at noon on Saturday. Art and architecture buffs should not miss this opportunity.
